Another week and another set of pathetic excuses. This week has been insane – still in constant attendance at the hospital. The busiest work week of the year oh and the little matter of my book Run! A book for Real Runners being voted Running Book of the Year!!! So with everything that’s happened I still hadn’t run all week. My two runs that I’ve skipped were a 7 miles easy run and a 6km tempo run running at 5:20 … so today’s run was a bit of a hybrid, trying to combine elements of both. I decided to do a 10km run with an easy start and a faster 6km to finish. I know it’s cheating, but it assuaged my guilty conscience a little.
The easy section was easy. That’s the good part, accelerating was tougher. Funnily enough it was nearer the end of the run that I started to feel good and my pace finally seemed to be returning, dropping under 5 minute pace for the final km. I’m still aware that there’s plenty of work to do, but I have a determination starting to ignite that makes me feel very positive.
Run! A book for Real Runners. Book of the Year 2020. Voted for by other runners. What a blooming fabtastic was to end this year of ups and down. Thank you to every single one of you for your support 😊
